” What a wonderful and fun place to stay. After staying at chain hotels and motels this was a very pleasant difference. It was like going back in time when people really cared about one another and service was the key. Great pool area with a BBQ, fruit trees lawn, pet friendly and extremely relaxing.”

” When you first walk in you can feel the serenity. Great pool and there is even a place to bar-b-que. Great clean rooms with refrigerators, micro waves and love the private patios. There are some really great folks that work there too and make you feel right at home. In fact it is like a home away from home.”

” I was searching online for a 3 day get away. I was lucky to find Casa Larrea. The grounds around the pool are lush with green grass, fruit trees and flowers. Casa Larrea is located right around the corner of El Paseo the main drag. Within walking distance but without the noise. We met Kim the owner, as we were relaxing with our wonderful breakfast, provided by the Inn. We chatted for a while and she gave us some great tips for hiking and eating. We travel with our little 15 lb dog Buddy.

The room with a full kitchen was terrific. It had everything we needed. Other places we have stayed at said “full Kitchen” but no utensils. I didn’t feel like I was staying at a hotel. This place has so much charm and private little corners I felt like I was at my 2nd home! I can’t say enough good things about this place. I’m making reservation again for our 2nd time back, and even plan another trip in April. Thanks so much Kim!!! “

” This place is awesome. It is affordable and the room is SUPER clean, and the pool and hot tub are GREAT.

I would recommend this place for everybody that want to stay in a place that is not just like every other hotels in town.

We had a room with a king bed and a kitchen, great room.”

” This place is awesome. The prices were cheap and the owners were awesome. Kim is the most laid back and cool landlord I have ever met (she also went to coachella last year)

Our room had a king bed and pull out sofa which fit four of us, with a bathroom and  kitchen. Place has a pool and hottub which was very useful after all the walking we did at coachella, and a full selection of continental breakfast in the morning! Kim even made us bacon, breakfast sausage, eggs and potatoes the second day we were there, so anyone that cooks like that for me is cool in my book, esp when they have bacon =) She also re-did our room each night which i thought was great and the rooms come with a flat screen tv above the sofa.

This place books up fast so if you’re looking for a cool place to stay (and not just when it’s coachella time) make reservations!”

” This is my other little haunt in the desert…when I can’t drop the cash to stay at the Marriott Desert Springs…THIS is where I stay!  Owned by a man and his wife, Casa Larrea Inn is like a home away from home.  Many people stay for weeks at a time so it seems like everyone there knows each other.  It’s set up like a courtyard and surrounds a pool and jacuzzi…the rooms are unassuming but get the job done!  Many have small kitchens in which to prepare food if you so choose and the rates are quite reasonable year round: $69-200.  We’ve always paid under a hundie so it CAN be done!  BEST part:  Casa Larrea Inn is one block north of the famed El Paseo Drive…you can WALK to all of the shops and dining facilities which is a LOT more than you can do at any of the other self-enclosed resorts.”

” We loved this hotel for several reasons. The rooms and the grounds were beautiful and unique. Lots of fruit trees and palm trees, a beautiful pool, a cute cabana and bbq, and lots of places to sit. There were even little welcome signs and welcome mats outside each room. Inside was a sofa and a full kitchen. The room was colourful and fun.

The location was quite good, walking distance to all the shops on El Paseo and restaurants, especially just one block from Native Foods, a fantastic vegan restaurant!

The owners are really great. It’s almost like staying at a 16 room bed and breakfast. They really try to get to know you and are very friendly, as are their four great dogs!”

” We have stayed twice now at this little gem, located steps, (literally), from the upscale shopping and dining centre of El Paseo in Palm Desert. Friendlier innkeepers you won’t find anywhere. Kim and Frank will make you feel like one of the family as soon as you arrive. They quite often host B.B.Q’s at poolside so that guests can get to know one another. Casa Larrea sits on a very quiet street and is well maintained with an inviting salt water pool and plenty of fruit trees on the property. We have only stayed in room 20 but have seen a few of the larger rooms and all are quite spacious with a small private patio at the rear. Check out their website as it is quite informative with lots of pictures.”

” If you are looking for peace & quiet, warm & friendly staff, great rooms, and
beautiful pool area…this is the place to stay! When I come to the desert, Casa
Larrea is where I hang my swim suit! Not only is it just a block off El Paseo,
but it is centrally located to everything. It is the best kept little secret in
the desert. I’ve  been coming to Casa Larrea for years, and love it even more
each time I come for a visit. “

” We just returned from a holiday in Palm Springs and spent the last 3 days at
Casa Larrea.  What a lovely place, everyone was so friendly and welcoming.  Alan met us at the front desk, (the owners were away at the time) and he made us feel right at home.  Next time we come to the desert we will be staying at Casa Larrea.”

” Terrific location, great, friendly owners and staff.  Love the individually
decorated rooms, have stayed at a different one each time and all were great. Alan takes care of any problems right away.  Love the dogs too.  Looking forward to being back in June, to just spend some time on the grounds and at the pool to just relax for a few days.”
